I'm moved, finally. All my stuff's unpacked, the place is somewhat in order, all of the appliances are (mostly) working and all signed & serviced up.

What a terrible week.

...

...

...

I want to go home :(

Thanks ...Microsoft?!

I teared up a bit. Seriously.

Trek fic?

All my cool toys and books are packed away in boxes, so I've got to amuse myself with just the computer. And I've got a hankering for some TOS Star Trek fic.

But...

I want some that stars (or at least includes) some of the book characters, like from the old-school trek novels.

Anybody know of any, just off the top of their head?

I don't want to hear this

Sometimes I think Too Much Information could be my family's motto.

Read on, brave soldier )

...

The last few days have just been ass on toast. This move is doing it's best to drive me crazy. It's a huge thing, quite distruptive, and having boxes all over the place makes it look like I'm living in a warehouse. There's so many things to do, little details to see to... ugh. I can't belive my brother does this every few years.

Just to add to the fun, my regular work is piling up like a motherfucker.

Making it worse, I didn't get much of anything done this evening thanks to a bit of a meltdown. I guess it was inevitable the way things are going, a cry and a tiny nap later I'm all right, but I hoped I'd be more resiliant than this.

...I hope that all the time though, and it never makes it true.

Minilove

Toasty, you will be pleased to note that there will soon be a Kendra Shaw Minimate.

She comes complete with a wee knife and is oh-so-cute.

Hopefully, My Last Post on this Subject

So we're moving 100% now.

All the financial ducks are in a row with the buyers, the seller of our new house is ok with all of our stuff.

Now all I have to do is pack and make various arrangements.

Feb. 10th, 2008

This is getting ridiculous...

We're moving.

At least, for now. *rolleyes*

Feb. 8th, 2008

WAIT!

And, in a stunning reversal, it looks like we may not be moving after all.

The potential buyers are first-timers, and they've gone and done something... weird with regards to their financing. So, I'll know by Monday if I have to pack my bags or not.

If yes, we're moving end of March.

If no, I hear we're staying put. Like I haven't heard that before, lol

Feb. 6th, 2008

Rollin' rollin' rollin'

So it looks like we're pretty much definitely going to be moving in... uh, March, I guess.

*looks around at all the stuff I've accumulated*

Oh, boy.

Hey Toasty!

Hey Toasty!

Remember when I asked if you'd be on AIM soon and you said this weekend for sure?

I'll be on then too, but I have 3 showings for the house (fucking annoying) on the weekend with 2 on Saturday so I'll be popping in and out. So if I'm not on, I'll be on soon, 'cause they don't take long, ok?

See you around.

Facepalmbook

I've recently got a Facebook account.

Yeah, yeah, I know.

I got one mainly because my brother has one, and I want to keep in touch when he goes to Korea. Haven't done much with it, it looks kind of boring to be honest. I looked up my brother, but haven't actually friended or poked him or whatever they do over there.

Surfed around the 'local network' for my city and was not impressed. I was dismayed to see that a lot of the barely literate comments were next to pictures of adults. It looks like a bad idea, advertising how stupid you are using your real name to people who live in the same city and might actually know you.

I've tried not to give it much information, but damn. When I logged in, there was a list of possible friends list candidates... and it was all people I actually know! Like in real life. Fuck that was creepy! I've barely given it any information other than my name, birthday, address, and... oh fuck.

A blast from the past

Hey, Internets! You'll never guess what I've been watching thanks to the wonders of digital cable. Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda!

For real. It's just as awesome as I remember. I guess it qualifies as CanCon, so it's a popular rerun choice.

All the old characters I've missed, like Rommie, Trance, Harper, Tyr, Beka, and... SPACE HERCULES! :D

Accelerated decrepitude

I don't know how it happened, but I'm already very tired of Cloverfield.

That's right Internets, I'm bored with a movie that hasn't come out yet.

Every day in most of the forums I go to, there are multiple (as in, a fuckton) of threads about stupid Cloverfield. 'What's the monster look like? What's a Slusho? Is this pic/video/review real? Is the oil rig real?' And it's been like this since at least the beginning of December. If you'd caught me a month ago, I'd be curious too, but right now, I'm just tired of the stupid crap. I don't even want to see the film anymore.

Get in the cinema, and get out. And take your annoying viral marketing with you.

Renaissance Art

Fuckin' awesome BSG picture. (SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4 I GUESS)

So... anybody on the friendslist actually bought Entertainment Weekly? What's the text say?

If I could afford a real snake, would I be working here?

So, if Deckard was a Replicant, does that mean Gaff was the real Blade Runner all along and Deckard was just some labour-saving device? He's always hanging around...

Also, fate of Pris = ;_;

2008

I'm tentatively optimistic about 2008. I couldn't tell you why. It's just a warm feeling that this year is gonna be alright...

Ok, so that's usually a bad sign, but maybe this year could be different, and really be as good as I feel it could be. Hope so.

I haven't bothered with resolutions this year. I didn't achieve last year's, so they'd just be the same anyway, so why put myself through the hassle? That being said, much like the Pirate Code, the following are my New Year's Suggestions:

  • Learn more than the "beer 'n' smokes buyin'" french that I've been sliding by with like a lazy cunt. I've already started with this one late last year, but it counts anyway.
  • Learn a new programming language. I've got my eye on Ruby... but it might have to wait till the Spring.
  • Actually produce some fandom stuff. The most I've ever done is some RP and one or two fanarts that saw the light of day. They're fun to do, even if I'm not very good at it.
  • Write a bit better.

The rest are kind of personal, so I'm going to keep them to myself for now.

...unless I succeed beyond all my wildest dreams, then I'll post about them to tell you all how awesome I am, lol.

Ok, I'm off to conjugate me some french verbs. Later.

BOOK Gives Nightmares

I think I'm going to take a break from studying tonight. I've been studying some french everyday, and I kind of overdid it yesterday.

I went to bed, but I couldn't sleep, so I decided to drill my vocabulary a bit in bed... but when I finally did get to sleep I had a nightmare!

I dreamed I was locked in a room (just like Guest House, another influence, I see) and I needed to solve the puzzle to get out. But the problem was, the only clues were thousands of Bescherelle french verb conjugation books scattered all over the floor. I searched and searched through all the books, but I couldn't find out how to escape. I thought I'd be trapped there forever and started to cry. But that's not the worst part!

The worst part is... the room was my own bathroom! I was stuck in my own bathroom. So in addition to being scared, I got to feel dumb too. Lucky me.
